Bob Schwartz graduated from the Small Business Institute at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL with a degree in Small Business Management/Marketing. He attended the United States Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island and the U.S Naval Supply Corps in Athens, Georgia.
Bob served as a supply officer during the Viet Nam era aboard one of the navy’s new class destroyer escorts at that time. After leaving the service he attended the “Large Store Training Program” for college graduates at JC Penny Company before becoming a merchandiser at several stores for 3 to 4 years. After leaving the JC Penny Company to become a manufactures rep. for several companies for 27 years, he started to do small business consulting and serving as the executive director of the Gateway Men’s Apparel Club in St. Louis organizing trade shows for several years.
Swartz came to the lake around 1997 and reinvented himself specializing in “tourist marketing” creating a lake area tourist map; Vacation Mania pocket coupon book and website and created the “Art & Ambiance Trail” in conjunction with national known artists Joe and Rita Orr. In 2008 received the 2007 Business Person of the Year award from the Lake of the Ozarks Regional Economic Development Council . He later received an award from the March of Dimes Central Division for outstanding volunteer leadership.
Bob currently handles the Marketing for Hot Summer Nights and does state wide rack card distribution for certain clients. He is also on the board of director for the Route 66 Association of Missouri. He now strives to help Lake TV go to the next level and increase their statewide exposure.
